Ontario-Quebec Health Study program

A special program designed to:

  • train health professionals to deliver health services in French in Ontario
  • provide French-speaking Ontario students with more opportunities to pursue studies in French.

How it works

Each year, the 2 participating universities in Quebec (Université Laval and Université de Montréal) reserve up to 5 spots for Ontario students in these programs:

  • Dentistry
  • Pharmacy
  • Optometry

These programs are not available in French in Ontario.

Agree to return to Ontario

If accepted, you have to agree to:

  • return to Ontario to practice for at least 24 months
  • set up your practice in a part of the province designated for services in French

You will need to start practising in Ontario within 6 months of graduating.

Fees: You pay the same as Quebec students, and could be eligible for OSAP. Ask your school financial aid office.

Who is eligible

To be eligible, you need to:

  • be an Ontario resident
  • be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident
  • be able to study in French
  • intend to study full time
  • qualify for the program
  • commit to practice in Ontario after graduating
