As part of the government commitment to improving transparency and accountability of the use of public funds, the public disclosure of expenses website provides information on travel, meal and hospitality expense claims of cabinet ministers, parliamentary assistants, political staff, government appointees and senior management in ministries.
Expense claims made by these designated officials after April 1, 2010 are disclosed on this website. The expenses are displayed according to the quarter in which they were incurred. Expense claim information is posted on a regular basis.
Information on expenses for agency senior executives, appointees and the top 5 claimants at 21 of Ontario’s largest agencies are posted by the agencies on their respective websites, following the review of their expense claims by the Integrity Commissioner. This information can be found through the Index of Key Agencies.
Information about the financial activities of the government’s ministries, agencies and business enterprises is also contained in the Public Accounts of Ontario, an annual and complementary report on the use of public funds.
The Public Accounts – Volume 3 reports on all travel expenses paid by each ministry during the fiscal year; whereas the public disclosure website reports on those expenses incurred and submitted for payment. Hence, individual reporting differences may occur due to the timing of payment. The Public Accounts - Volume 3 also reports for each ministry any travel expenses incurred by the respective cabinet minister, parliamentary assistants and deputy ministers. Other ministry persons, who incurred $10,000 or more in travel expenses that were paid in the fiscal year, are also reported individually.
Information on this website was accurate at the time of posting.
