To start (or continue) playing a video, click anywhere on the picture or on the Play button (triangle) in the control bar. Or, using your keyboard, tab to the Play button on the screen and press Enter.

To pause a video that is in play, click anywhere on the picture or on the Pause button (two vertical lines) in the control bar to pause the video. Or, using your keyboard, tab to the Pause button and press Enter.

This bar allows you to move back and forth through a video. The black vertical line shows what part of the video is currently being watched. To skip forward in the video, click on any part of the bar to the right of the black vertical line. To go back in the video, click on any part of the bar to the left of the black vertical line. Or, using your keyboard, use the Left arrow to move to a previous part of the video, or use the Right arrow to skip forward to a later part of the video.

There are two numbers on the video player. The number on the left counts up and shows how much time has passed in the video. The number on the right counts down and shows how much time is left in the video.

To watch a video in a larger size, click on the Full Screen button (square). The video will expand to take up your entire screen. Or, using your keyboard, tab to the Full Screen button and press Enter.
To exit full-screen mode, click on the Normal Screen button (square), which replaces the Full Screen button. Or, using your keyboard, press the Esc key.
To start or pause a video in full-screen mode, press the Spacebar on your keyboard once.
Note: In full-screen mode, the control bar at the bottom of the video screen disappears after several seconds. Move your mouse to make it reappear.

A caption/subtitle is text that appears on the screen that matches what’s being said in the video. If the video being watched has Caption functionality, turn captions on or off by clicking the Captions button (T). Or, using your keyboard, tab to the Captions button and press Enter. When captions are turned off, the T appears faded.

An audio description is a spoken description of what’s happening in the video. If the video being watched has Audio functionality, turn audio on or off by clicking the Audio Description button (A). Or, using your keyboard, tab to the Audio Description button and press Enter.

This area controls the volume for the video. To raise the volume, click on the right side of the volume control. To lower the volume, click on the left side of the volume control. Or, using your keyboard, use the Up arrow to raise the volume, or the Down arrow to lower the volume.
To play video on Ontario.ca, you need the free Adobe Flash Player version 7 or higher. You also need to have JavaScript turned on.
