Tweak your Ontario.ca search for better search results
The more information you provide, the better the results. To return more relevant results, use more words in your search. For example, search “Ontario Pension Plan” instead of just “pension”.
A search query in lower case, UPPER CASE, oR a CoMBiNAtiOn returns the same search results.
If you know the exact name or title for what you’re searching, put quotes around the phrase. For example, searching “Progress Report 2008” only returns pages with that exact phrase.
Frequently used “stop words” will be ignored by the search engine. For example, a search for “the Government of Ontario” or “Government Ontario” returns the same results.
Use the Organizations tab, on the menu to the left, to filter your search results by organization. The tab displays the number of results for your entire query, and also by specific organization. To see results from just one of those organizations, click on it.
