Hire Professionals, Sub-Contractors and Workers

If you are hiring professionals, trades and general labourers, as an employer you have health and safety duties under the Occupational Health and Safety Act.

As an employer you will need to register with the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB). Find more and register from the links below:

Professionals

You may decide that you need architects and engineers to assist in the planning, development and management of your project.

Trades

Skilled trade workers must have a Certificate of Qualification that shows they passed the provincial qualification exam. Find out more at the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities (MTCU)
Apprentice and Licence Registration.

Independent Contractors

If you are and independent contractor you will need a Clearance Certificate from the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board.
