In February 2010, there were 10,752,800 people of working age (15 years and over) in Ontario.
There were 7,219,600 people in Ontario’s labour force according to Statistics Canada’s Labour Force Survey for February 2010. Thus, 67.1% of Ontario’s working age population was either employed or actively seeking employment. This percentage is also known as the labour force participation rate.
As of February 2010, there were 6,564,800 people working in Ontario, 81.1% of them full time.
Another 654,900 people were unemployed. This represented an unemployment rate of 9.1% for Ontario in February 2010.
