Definitions
Licence Plate Sticker (Val Tag) - A validation sticker or tag indicates that a vehicle has been duly registered with the Ministry of Transportation and is legally licenced to travel the roadway.

Below is an example of such a sticker (expiring December 1999).

 Licence Plate Sticker (Val Tag)

Note that a validation sticker expires on the birthday of the registered owner of the vehicle. In the above example that would be sometime in December 1999. Once you receive your renewal, place the larger sticker on the top right-hand corner of your licence plate (back plate for cars, front plate for trucks) and the smaller sticker on your permit.

Small Truck - Any commercial vehicle with a registered gross weight of 3,000 kg or less.

Motorcycle - a self-propelled vehicle having a seat or saddle for the use of the driver and designed to travel on not more than three wheels in contact with the ground, and includes a motor scooter, but does not include a motor assisted bicycle.

Odometer - A meter or display which shows the total kilometres or miles that the vehicle has travelled since it was manufactured. It is usually located on the Speedometer of your vehicle.

Below is a Speedometer with an Odometer displaying 070531. This is the number from your vehicle that you should provide when renewing your vehicle sticker.

Odometer Reading

On some vehicles there may be two such displays; use the one which has the larger number.
