Disclosure Veto (Adopted Person)
If your adoption was finalized before September 1, 2008, you can file a disclosure veto to prohibit the release of your post-adoption birth information. This will prevent the release of identifying information to your birth parent(s).
Sharing Medical Information
With your disclosure veto, you can include medical information about you that could help your birth parent(s). This way, your identity will stay confidential, but your birth parent(s) could still know about your medical history.
Notices
If you do not want to file a disclosure veto, but do not want to be contacted, you can file a no contact notice. You can file a notice of contact preference if you know how you want to be contacted and do not want to file a disclosure veto or a no contact notice. Read the section on notices to learn more.
