Searching for Adoption Information in Ontario

If you were involved in an Ontario adoption, you can search for different types of adoption information.

1. Ontario’s adoption information disclosure law allows adopted adults and birth parents to get information from birth and adoption records.
2. Adopted adults, birth parents, adoptive parents and birth relatives can search for other types of adoption information and services. This includes:
   • Non-Identifying Information
   • Severe Medical Searches
   • Placing a Name on the Adoption Disclosure Register
   • Copies of Adoption Orders

The 3-in-1 Newborn Registration Service in now available across Ontario

As of July 27th, 2009, the fully electronic 3-in-1 Newborn Registration Service is now available across the entire province. Therefore, Ontario parents may use the Newborn Registration Service with comfort and ease to register their newborns online, no matter where in Ontario the birth occurred.

This fast and easy service allows parents to submit their child’s birth registration online and apply for a birth certificate and Social Insurance Number from the comfort of their own home. The Newborn Registration Service eliminates the birth registration fees previously charged by some municipalities and the need to deal with three levels of government. The convenient, online service is a joint project between ServiceOntario and Service Canada, and is a much more efficient way for parents to register the birth of their baby and obtain essential identity documents for their newborns. This is one of the many ways ServiceOntario is providing fast, friendly and easy access to Ontario government services.

BizPaL Launched in Vaughan and Kingston, Ontario

• BizPaL is making it easier to start and expand your business. This online service provides you with a customized list of permits and licences that you may need from all levels of government. Available in over 106 Ontario communities, BizPaL was recently launched in Vaughan on May 22, 2009 and in Kingston on May 19, 2009. Learn more about BizPaL here.
