If your plate choice was not accepted during the transaction, it either has already been taken, or it does not meet Ministry of Transportation's criteria.

There are over 60 graphics to choose from.
4. Can I order a personalized licence plate with the French slogan, "Tant à Découvrir"?
Yes. As of March 28, 2011, personalized licence plates with the French slogan can be ordered through the online service, by calling 1-800-AUTO-PL8 (288-6758) or at a ServiceOntario centre.
No. At this time, graphic personalized licence plates are not available with the French slogan, with the exception of the Franco-Ontarian Graphic.
6. Can I exchange my current English slogan personalized licence plate for a French slogan plate?
As of March 28, 2011, if you wish to exchange your current English slogan personalized licence plate for a French slogan plate, you should visit a ServiceOntario centre to order a replacement personalized plate. You will be required to pay the standard personalized licence plate replacement fee of $99.10.
7. How can I ensure that I get the plate I want?
To be fair to everyone who orders a personalized licence plate, plates are issued on a first-come, first-served basis.
8. Can I order more than one combination at the same time?
No. If you order a personalized licence plate through the online service, you can only order one plate per transaction.
9. Can I pick up my personalized licence plate when it's ready?
No, it will be mailed to the address on the Ministry of Transportation's records system or to the delivery address if you have provided one during your order.
10. When will I receive my personalized licence plate?
Online order of the personalized licence plate will be delivered within four weeks. If you do not receive your plate in that time please contact 1-800-AUTO-PL8 (288-6758) to inquire about the status of your order.
11. Can I convert my regular series plate into a personalized licence plate?
Yes, you can convert your regular series plate into a personalized plate. Visit a Driver and Vehicle Licence Issuing Office or call 1-800-AUTO-PL8 (1-800-288-6758) to place your order.

Yes, you can order a personalized plate for someone else. You will have to provide your driver's licence or registrant identification number. If you do not have a driver's licence or registrant identification number please call 1-800-AUTO-PL8 (1-800-288-6758) or visit a Driver and Vehicle Licence Issuing Office.

15. I have a personalized licence plate and I'd like to give it as a gift. Can I do that?
Yes, a personalized plate can be transferred one time only to anyone before it is attached to a vehicle.
16. Can I order a replacement personalized plate through the online service?
No, contact a Driver and Vehicle Licence Issuing Office to order a replacement personalized plate.
17. Can I order a personalized plate if I have denials?
No. Prior to purchasing the personalized licence plate, any outstanding denials (Defaulted Fines, NSF and any Highway 407 tolls) must be paid.
