Overview

The Ministry of Intergovernmental Affairs supports the Premier and other ministries in advancing Ontario’s intergovernmental and international priorities. 

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic advice and analysis on intergovernmental relations, international affairs and protocol, and the democratic institutions of government;
• Enhance inter-ministerial collaboration and help ministries advance the intergovernmental elements of the government's key policy initiatives;
• Ensure the federal government treats Ontario fairly when it comes to health care, climate change, immigration and child care;
• Provide leadership in the Canadian federation and enhance Ontario's international image and profile;
• Develop Ontario’s overall intergovernmental strategy.
