TVO Mathify

Made in Ontario

For Grades 4 to 11

Free, one-on-one online support provided by Ontario Certified Teachers, is available to help students improve their math skills. Build math understanding and confidence with the help of a math tutor! Mathify is available during the school year, from Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. ET and Sundays from 3:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. ET.

Tutoring is available for Grade 11 students until August 2022.

Students can review, refresh and extend their learning. Teacher-facilitated online courses are being temporarily adapted to allow for independent study (not for credit). You can begin when you like and work at your own pace.

TVO ILC Open House

Made in Ontario

For Grades 9 to 12

Access over 144 courses on a variety of topics. This free resource is intended for students, parents and teachers to help with learning at home. Most courses are offered in both English and French. Royal Botanical Gardens at Home

For kindergarten to Grade 9

Learn about biodiversity, conservation, botany, ecology and the environment with these collections of Ontario-made activities, videos and online live events. Pearson Airport Explorers Club

For Grades 1 to 9

Royal Ontario Museum (ROM)

For Grades 1 to 12

Explore fun and creative activities based on the ROM's collections, which cover topics such as visual arts, science, history and social science. ROM activities and resources are designed for use on computers and all modern browsers, except Internet Explorer. Some activities are not suited for mobile devices.

Knowledgehook

For Grades 3 to 10

Create to Learn@Home

For Grades 3 to 12

Watch video tutorials created by First Nations, Métis and Inuit artists and media makers who share their skills with students. Topics include digital skills and traditional knowledge. This resource is designed for use on computers, mobile devices and all modern browsers, except Internet Explorer.

The Canadian Encyclopedia

For Grades 4 to 12

Find articles and resources aligned with the Ontario curriculum. Topics include social studies, history and Indigenous studies. The Canadian Encyclopedia is designed for use on computers, mobile devices and all modern browsers, except for Internet Explorer.

CEMC Courseware and CEMC at Home

For Grades 4 to 12

Developed by the Centre for Education in Mathematics and Computing, CEMC Courseware materials feature math and computer science lessons, interactive activities and enrichment challenges.

CEMC at Home is designed to support teachers, students and parents by providing a variety of fun and educational ways to do math and computer science while at home. Most weekdays will feature updated resources for four grade ranges: Grade 4 to 6, Grade 7 and 8, Grade 9 and 10, and Grade 11 and 12.

TedED

For Grades 4 to 12

Find interactive, video-based lessons for parents and students. Topics include arts, science, math and social studies. All videos can be viewed without registration. Sign-in is required to participate in thinking and discussion tasks. TedED is designed for use on computers, mobile devices and all modern browsers, except Internet Explorer.

Note that some mature subject themes are discussed.

Google Arts and Culture

For Grades 5 to 12

Explore Google-curated virtual tours and videos that connect with a variety of museums, galleries and interesting locations around the world. Students can "walk" through the collection, watch related videos and read resources. Text automatically displays in the default language of your computer or device.

All content can be accessed without a registered account, but a Google account is required to create favourites and collections.

Art Gallery of Ontario (AGO)

For Grades 6 to 12

Students can engage with art through interesting stories, fun activities and instructions to help them colour, photograph, sketch and make their own art. This resource is designed for use on computers, mobile devices and all modern browsers, except for Internet Explorer.

Ocean School

For Grades 6 to 12

Explore habitats at the bottom of the Gulf of St. Lawrence through virtual experiences, videos and student activities. Ocean School is designed for use on computers, mobile devices and all modern browsers. Note that some interactive activities are not supported by Internet Explorer and will not work on mobile phones.

Skills Ontario

For Grades 6 to 12

Find a series of hands-on challenges where students explore and test their skills in trades and technology and learn about potential careers choices. These activities support teamwork and problem solving! All content can be accessed without a registered account, but a Twitter account is required to submit entries and be considered for prizes.

Indigenous Peoples Atlas of Canada

For Grades 9 to 12

Search and read through four volumes of the Canadian Geographic's Indigenous Peoples Atlas of Canada. This free resource includes a section on Truth and Reconciliation, reference maps of Indigenous Canada, contemporary and historical photography, and a glossary of common Indigenous terms. Topics include social studies, civics and citizenship, geography, history, language, politics and First Nations, Métis, and Inuit Studies.

Scratch

Hour of Code

Access one-hour tutorials featuring interactive games and resources for building skills in computer science and coding, while nurturing problem-solving skills, logic and creativity along the way. This resource includes a range of activities that can be completed online or offline.

National Film Board

For kindergarten to Grade 12

Watch a wide range of educational films that tie in with Canadian curricula. These films address important issues, including diversity and inclusion, Indigenous voices and reconciliation, and environment and sustainability. All videos include closed captioning.
