Amending Reg. 628 of R.R.O. 1990

(VEHICLE PERMITS)

1. (1) The definition of ““emissions inspection report” and “conditional emissions inspection report”” in subsection 1 (1) of Regulation 628 of the Revised Regulations of Ontario, 1990 is revoked and the following substituted:

“emissions inspection report” has the same meaning as in Ontario Regulation 361/98 made under the Environmental Protection Act; (“rapport d’inspection des émissions”)

(2) The definitions of “expanded program area”, “Greater Toronto Area”, “kit car”, “remote island area” and “urban and commuter areas” in subsection 1 (1) of the Regulation are revoked.

2. (1) Clause 2 (2) (a) of the Regulation is amended by striking out “a CAVR cab card or”.

(2) Clause 2 (2.1) (b) of the Regulation is amended by striking out “8.1 or”.

(3) Subsection 2 (5.2) of the Regulation is revoked.

3. Subsections 5.1 (2) and (4) of the Regulation are revoked.

4. Section 8.1 of the Regulation is revoked.

5. (1) The French version of subsection 8.2 (1) of the Regulation is amended by adding “, à la fois” after “qui” in the portion before clause (a).

(2) Clauses 8.2 (1) (a) and (b) of the Regulation are revoked and the following substituted:

(a) that use an internal combustion engine as their source of power;

(b) that use diesel fuel; and

(c) that have a registered gross weight of more than 4,500 kilograms.

(3) Subsection 8.2 (4) of the Regulation is amended by striking out “in respect of a vehicle that uses diesel fuel” in the portion before clause (a).

(4) Subsection 8.2 (5) of the Regulation is revoked.

6. Clause 18 (7) (a) of the Regulation is revoked.

Commencement

7. This Regulation comes into force on the later of April 1, 2019 and the day it is filed.
