Amending O. Reg. 267/18

(GENERAL)

1. (1) Item 3 of the Table to section 2 of Ontario Regulation 267/18 is amended by striking out “Authorized” in Column 2 and substituting “Required” and by striking out “July 1, 2020” in Column 6 and substituting “July 1, 2021”.

(2) Item 9 of the Table to section 2 of the Regulation is amended by,

(a) striking out “Ministry of the Attorney General” in Column 1 and substituting “The Special Investigations Unit continued under the Special Investigations Unit Act, 2019”;

(b) striking out “With respect to circumstances in which a person is seriously injured or dies and in which the injury or death may have resulted from criminal offences committed by a police officer, the Indigenous identity, race, religion and ethnic origin of the person and the officer” in Column 3 and substituting “The Indigenous identity, race, religion and ethnic origin of an affected person or a subject official, as those terms are defined in subsection 1 (1) of the Special Investigations Unit Act, 2019”; and

(c) striking out “With respect to the functions of the Ministry’s special investigations unit, determining whether to conduct an investigation into the serious injury or death, and conducting any such investigation” in Column 4 and substituting “Determining whether to conduct an investigation under section 15 of the Special Investigations Unit Act, 2019 and the conduct of any such investigation”.

2. Subsection 1 (2) of Ontario Regulation 113/20 is revoked.

3. This Regulation comes into force on the day it is filed.
