Amending O. Reg. 232/16

(SALE OF LIQUOR IN GOVERNMENT STORES)

1. (1) Paragraph 2 of subsection 25 (2) of Ontario Regulation 232/16 is amended by adding “Before July 1, 2022” at the beginning.

(2) Subsection 25 (2) of the Regulation is amended by adding the following paragraphs:

3.  From July 1, 2022 to June 30, 2023, at least 45 per cent of the containers of wine (excluding cider) on display in the store must contain wine that is produced using grapes from a single country and in respect of which at least one of the criteria listed in subparagraphs i to iii of paragraph 2 is satisfied.

4.  After June 30, 2023, at least 40 per cent of the containers of wine (excluding cider) on display in the store must contain wine that is produced using grapes from a single country and in respect of which at least one of the criteria listed in subparagraphs i to iii of paragraph 2 is satisfied.

2. Clause 28.6 (1) b) of the French version of the Regulation is amended by striking out “agricole” and substituting “vinicole”.

3. Paragraph 1 of subsection 43 (2) of the Regulation is amended by striking out “200,000” wherever it appears and substituting in each case “375,000”.

Commencement

4. This Regulation comes into force on the later of July 1, 2021 and the day it is filed.
