Amending O. Reg. 17/05
(GENERAL)
1. Ontario Regulation 17/05 is amended by adding the following section:
Orders, etc., under the Ticket Sales Act, 2017
87.1 The following information is prescribed for the purposes of paragraph 4 of subsection 103 (2) of the Act:
1. For each order made under any of sections 20, 21, 22 and 23 of the Ticket Sales Act, 2017 on or after April 24, 2026, its date, a description of the order, a summary of the Director’s grounds for making the order and a description of the final outcome of any subsequent proceeding with respect to the order.
2. For each undertaking of voluntary compliance entered into under section 25 of the Ticket Sales Act, 2017 on or after April 24, 2026, the date on which the undertaking was entered into and a description of the terms of the undertaking.
3. For each order of the Superior Court of Justice made under section 26 of the Ticket Sales Act, 2017 on or after April 24, 2026, its date, a summary of the grounds in support of the Director’s application for the order, a description of the order as well as of the final outcome of any subsequent proceeding with respect to the order.
4. For each order under section 30 of the Ticket Sales Act, 2017 made on or after April 24, 2026 imposing an administrative penalty against a ticket business, its date, a description of the order, a summary of the Director’s grounds for making the order and a description of the final outcome of any subsequent proceeding with respect to the order.
5. The following information about each person against whom an order referred to in this section is made and each person who entered into an undertaking of voluntary compliance referred to in this section:
i. The person’s name, as known to the Ministry.
ii. The person’s business address, business telephone number, business fax number and business email address, if known to the Ministry.
iii. Any business names used by the person, as known to the Ministry.
2. Section 88 of the Regulation is amended by striking out “or who has been found guilty of such a charge” at the end of the portion before paragraph 1 and substituting “or with a charge that has been laid, on or after April 24, 2026, under the Ticket Sales Act, 2017, or who has been found guilty of any such charge”.
3. (1) Paragraph 2 of subsection 90 (2) of the Regulation is amended by adding the following subparagraph:
0.ii the complaint is about a consumer transaction respecting a ticket within the meaning of the Ticket Sales Act, 2017,
(2) Section 90 of the Regulation is amended by adding the following subsections:
(2.1) The following information is prescribed for the purposes of paragraph 4 of subsection 103 (2) of the Act in respect of a ticket business within the meaning of the Ticket Sales Act, 2017 about whom the Director receives a complaint that meets all of the conditions set out in subsection (2.2):
1. The information referred to in paragraphs 1 to 5 of subsection (1).
2. Whether an order was made against the ticket business or an undertaking of voluntary compliance was entered into by the ticket business, as described in section 87.1, or whether a charge was laid against the ticket business as described in section 88, and,
i. if an order was made or an undertaking of voluntary compliance was entered into, the information required by paragraph 1, 2, 3 or 4 of section 87.1, as applicable, and
ii. if a charge was laid, the information required by paragraph 4 of section 88.
(2.2) The conditions mentioned in subsection (2.1) are the following:
1. The complaint deals with conduct of the ticket business that occurs on or after April 24, 2026 and that may be in contravention of the Ticket Sales Act, 2017, whether the conduct constitutes an offence or not.
2. The complaint meets the conditions set out in paragraphs 1 and 3 of subsection (2).
4. (1) Clause 91 (1) (a) of the Regulation is amended by striking out “or the Payday Loans Act, 2008” and substituting “the Payday Loans Act, 2008 or the Ticket Sales Act, 2017”.
(2) Clause 91 (1) (b) of the Regulation is revoked and the following substituted:
(b) the inspector has issued a notice to the person mentioned in clause (a) that the person appears to be contravening the Act, the Collection and Debt Settlement Services Act, the Payday Loans Act, 2008 or the Ticket Sales Act, 2017, as the case may be, and, in the case of a notice that the person appears to be contravening the Ticket Sales Act, 2017, the notice is issued on or after April 24, 2026; and
(3) Subsection 91 (2) of the Regulation is amended by striking out “or the Payday Loans Act, 2008” in the portion before paragraph 1 and substituting “the Payday Loans Act, 2008 or the Ticket Sales Act, 2017”.

5. This Regulation comes into force on the day it is filed.
