Amending O. Reg. 347/07
(PROVINCIAL PARKS: GENERAL PROVISIONS)
1. (1) Subsection 1 (1) of Ontario Regulation 347/07 is amended by adding the following definition:
“daily vehicle permit” includes a senior citizen daily vehicle permit, disabled person daily vehicle permit, daily bus permit and any similar daily permit for a vehicle issued by the Minister, but does not include a commercial day-use vehicle permit; (“permis quotidien relatif à un véhicule”)
(2) The definition of “provincial park permit” in subsection 1 (1) of the Regulation is amended by striking out “senior citizen daily vehicle permit, disabled person daily vehicle permit, daily bus permit” and substituting “commercial day-use vehicle permit”.
2. Section 5 of the Regulation is amended by adding the following subsections:
(2.1) No person who starts or tends a fire in a provincial park shall leave the fire without leaving a responsible person in charge of the fire.
(2.2) A person who starts a fire in a provincial park or, if the person who started the fire is not present, a person in charge of the fire, shall take all necessary steps to tend the fire, keep the fire under control and extinguish the fire before leaving the site.
3. The Regulation is amended by adding the following section:
Washing food equipment, clothes
7.1 (1) No person shall wash food preparation or storage equipment, cooking devices, utensils, dishes or clothing at any tap or sink in a provincial park except in an area designated by the superintendent for that purpose.
(2) For the purposes of subsection (1), the superintendent may designate an area in which, in the opinion of the superintendent, the activity will not harm the environment, impede the maintenance of ecological integrity or be a threat to public safety.
4. (1) Section 23 of the Regulation is amended by adding the following subsection:
(4.1) Subsection (4) does not apply if the person parks a motor vehicle in a provincial park under the authority of a permit that specifies that it does not need to be displayed.
(2) Subsection 23 (5) of the Regulation is amended by striking out “a daily vehicle permit, an annual vehicle permit” and substituting “a daily vehicle permit, a commercial day-use vehicle permit, an annual vehicle permit”.
5. Section 24 of the Regulation is amended by adding the following subsection:
(2) Despite subsection (1), a business or public library may assign commercial day-use vehicle permits.
6. Item 93 of Schedule 1 to the Regulation is amended by striking out “White Sand River” in Column 2 and substituting “Whitesand”.
7. This Regulation comes into force on the later of July 1, 2026 and the day this Regulation is filed.
