The Ministry of Economic Development, Job Creation and Trade, in collaboration with the Trade Commissioner in Lima and Brazil, is pleased to invite you to participate in the Ontario Life Sciences Mission to Brazil & Peru. This is an opportunity for Medtech, Biotech, Diagnostics, and Digital Health companies to explore two of Latin America’s most dynamic and growing healthcare markets. 

This mission is designed for Ontario companies looking to expand internationally and build strategic partnerships across the region. Through a highly curated program, participants will gain direct exposure to healthcare providers, distributors, laboratories, research institutions, innovation hubs, and other relevant players in each market.

Brazil is the largest healthcare market in Latin America, with a population of over 210 million and annual healthcare expenditures exceeding US$200 billion. The country’s healthcare and life sciences sectors are expanding rapidly, driven by increasing demand for innovative medical technologies, diagnostics, biotechnology solutions, and more efficient healthcare delivery systems.

Peru’s medical technology market is projected to reach approximately USD 1.93 billion in revenue by 2025, driven by demand for advanced medical devices, telemedicine, diagnostics, and hospital technologies. The country’s in-vitro diagnostics (IVD) segment is also growing, with the market valued at approximately USD 135 million in 2023, while the clinical laboratory services market is forecast to exceed USD 1 billion by 2033.

Together, Brazil and Peru offer Ontario companies a strategic gateway into Latin America’s broader healthcare and life sciences landscape. Brazil provides scale, market depth, and a highly developed healthcare ecosystem, while Peru offers a growing and increasingly accessible market with rising demand for imported innovation and specialized technologies.
