The Government of Ontario is organizing a Smart Manufacturing Trade Mission to Automation Expo South in Chennai, India.

Ontario mission participants will benefit from exhibitor space in the Ontario pavilion at Automation Expo South, an event which brings together companies involved in smart automation, industrial IoT, AI, robotics, process automation and cybersecurity. The trade show will take place in Chennai, a major Indian industrial hub tied to automotive, electronics, and heavy engineering. This will be the third iteration of the trade show, which is associated with the longstanding Automation Expo India event held in Mumbai. The southern version of the trade show in Chennai sees representation from 15,988+ unique visitors, 300 exhibitors, and 400 companies. Ontario companies will connect with major Indian manufacturers at the show and take part in a business outreach program to an additional Indian city.

India is ripe for advanced manufacturing solutions. The “Make in India” strategy promotes domestic manufacturing. PLI schemes (Production-Linked Incentives) offer financial incentives to companies investing in high-tech manufacturing across sectors like electronics, automotive, pharmaceuticals, and renewable energy. The country’s manufacturers are increasingly adopting automation, IoT, AI, and robotics to improve productivity and quality. The Indian middle class is expanding, driving demand for higher-quality and technologically advanced products. India is also becoming a global export hub, notably in textiles, pharmaceuticals, and electronics.

The mission package will include: 

• 1:1 export advice and consultation

• Pre-mission briefing offering sector/market updates and logistical information related to the mission

• Exhibiting space in the Ontario booth at Automation Expo South in Chennai 

• Customized B2B meeting program connecting Ontario companies with potential customers and partners in Chennai and an additional Indian city

• Marketing and promotional support through trade show and Ontario delegates’ directories

• Networking opportunities 

   

The mission registration fee is to be confirmed. In addition, participating Ontario companies must cover the cost of their flights, accommodation, some local transportation and meals.
