Equivalent trades in Quebec

1. (1) The Province of Quebec is prescribed for the purposes of clause 9 (6) (b) of the Act. O. Reg. 222/10, s. 1 (1).

(2) The trade known in Quebec as « mécanicien de machines lourdes » in French and “heavy equipment mechanic” in English is prescribed as a trade for the purposes of clause 9 (6) (b) of the Act. O. Reg. 222/10, s. 1 (2).

(3) For the purposes of subsection 9 (6) of the Act,

(a) the trade known in Quebec as heavy equipment mechanic and in Ontario as heavy duty equipment technician are deemed to be the same trade; and

(b) the Director shall, subject to the requirements of subsection 9 (6) of the Act being met, issue a certificate of qualification as a heavy duty equipment technician to the holder of an equivalent document issued in Quebec to a heavy equipment mechanic. O. Reg. 222/10, s. 1 (3).
