Definitions

1. (1) In this Regulation,

“gross weight” has the same meaning as in subsection 1 (1) of the Highway Traffic Act; (“poids brut”)

“heavy multiple unit vehicle” means a truck or tractor, and one or more trailers, that has a gross weight or registered gross weight greater than 5,000 kilograms; (“véhicule lourd à unités multiples”)

“heavy single unit vehicle” means a truck, tractor, school bus, urban transit bus or inter-city bus that has a gross weight or registered gross weight greater than 5,000 kilograms; (“véhicule lourd à unité simple”)

“heavy vehicle” means a heavy multiple unit vehicle or a heavy single unit vehicle”; (“véhicule lourd”)

“holiday” means any of the following:

1.  New Year’s Day.

2.  Family Day.

3.  Good Friday.

4.  Easter Monday.

5.  Victoria Day.

6.  Canada Day.

7.  Civic Holiday.

8.  Labour Day.

9.  Thanksgiving Day.

10.  Remembrance Day.

11.  Christmas Day.

12.  Boxing Day.

13.  Any day fixed as a holiday by proclamation of the Governor General or Lieutenant Governor; (“jour férié”)

“inter-city bus” has the same meaning as in subsection 1 (1) of Ontario Regulation 199/07 (Commercial Motor Vehicle Inspections) made under the Highway Traffic Act; (“autobus interurbain”)

“registered gross weight” has the same meaning as in subsection 1 (1) of Ontario Regulation 340/94 (Drivers’ Licences) made under the Highway Traffic Act; (“poids brut enregistré”)

“school bus” has the same meaning as in subsection 175 (1) of the Highway Traffic Act; (“autobus scolaire”)

“urban transit bus” means a bus that is operated as part of a service for which a fare is charged for transporting the public by vehicles operated,

(a)  by or on behalf of a municipality or a local board as defined in the Municipal Affairs Act, or

(b)  under an agreement between a municipality and a person, firm or corporation. (“autobus urbain”)

“weekday” means Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday or Friday; (“jour de semaine”)

“weekends” means Saturday and Sunday. (“fins de semaine”) O. Reg. 175/15, s. 1 (1); O. Reg. 253/16, s. 1 (1).

(2) If any of the holidays listed in paragraph 1, 6, 10, 11 or 13 of the definition of “holiday” in subsection (1) falls on a Saturday or Sunday, the following Monday is a holiday and not a weekday. O. Reg. 253/16, s. 1 (2).

(3) If the holiday listed in paragraph 12 of the definition of “holiday” falls on a Saturday, the following Monday is a holiday and not a weekday and if it falls on a Sunday or Monday, the following Tuesday is a holiday and not a weekday. O. Reg. 253/16, s. 1 (2).

Tolls payable for July 1, 2015 to May 31, 2019

2. The tolls payable for the operation of a vehicle on Highway 407 East for the period beginning on July 1, 2015 and ending on May 31, 2019 are set out in Schedules 1, 2 and 3. O. Reg. 143/17, s. 1.

Schedule 1
Tolls Payable for Vehicles that are not heavy Vehicles

1.  Weekdays, beginning at 6:00:00 a.m. and ending at 9:59:59 a.m., $0.29 per kilometre.

2.  Weekdays, beginning at 10:00:00 a.m. and ending at 2:59:59 p.m., $0.23 per kilometre.

3.  Weekdays, beginning at 3:00:00 p.m. and ending at 6:59:59 p.m., $0.29 per kilometre.

4.  Weekdays, beginning at 7:00:00 p.m. and ending at 5:59:59 a.m., $0.19 per kilometre.

5.  Weekends and holidays, beginning at 11:00:00 a.m. and ending at 6:59:59 p.m., $0.22 per kilometre.

6.  Weekends and holidays, beginning at 7:00:00 p.m. and ending at 10:59:59 a.m., $0.19 per kilometre.

Schedule 2
Tolls payable for heavy Single Unit Vehicles

1.  Weekdays, beginning at 6:00:00 a.m. and ending at 9:59:59 a.m., $0.58 per kilometre.

2.  Weekdays, beginning at 10:00:00 a.m. and ending at 2:59:59 p.m., $0.46 per kilometre.

3.  Weekdays, beginning at 3:00:00 p.m. and ending at 6:59:59 p.m., $0.58 per kilometre.

4.  Weekdays, beginning at 7:00:00 p.m. and ending at 5:59:59 a.m., $0.38 per kilometre.

5.  Weekends and holidays, beginning at 11:00:00 a.m. and ending at 6:59:59 p.m., $0.44 per kilometre.

6.  Weekends and holidays, beginning at 7:00:00 p.m. and ending at 10:59:59 a.m., $0.38 per kilometre.

Schedule 3
Tolls payable for heavy multiple Unit Vehicles

1.  Weekdays, beginning at 6:00:00 a.m. and ending at 9:59:59 a.m., $0.87 per kilometre.

2.  Weekdays, beginning at 10:00:00 a.m. and ending at 2:59:59 p.m., $0.69 per kilometre.

3.  Weekdays, beginning at 3:00:00 p.m. and ending at 6:59:59 p.m., $0.87 per kilometre.

4.  Weekdays, beginning at 7:00:00 p.m. and ending at 5:59:59 a.m., $0.57 per kilometre.

5.  Weekends and holidays, beginning at 11:00:00 a.m. and ending at 6:59:59 p.m., $0.66 per kilometre.

6.  Weekends and holidays, beginning at 7:00:00 p.m. and ending at 10:59:59 a.m., $0.57 per kilometre.
