DESIGNATION OF DISEASES

Designated diseases
1. For the purposes of the Act, a disease set out in Column 1 of the Table is designated as a disease of public health significance and,
(a) a communicable disease, if it is identified as such in Column 2 of the Table; and
(b) a virulent disease, if it is identified as such in Column 3 of the Table.
Diseases against which immunizing agents are used
2. The following diseases are specified as diseases for the purposes of the definition of “immunizing agent” in subsection 38 (1) of the Act:
1. Diphtheria.
2. Haemophilus influenzae b.
3. Hepatitis A.
4. Hepatitis B.
5. Herpes Zoster.
6. Human Papillomavirus.
7. Influenza.
8. Japanese encephalitis.
9. Measles.
10. Meningococcal.
11. Mumps.
12. Pertussis.
13. Pneumococcal.
14. Poliomyelitis.
15. Rabies.
16. Rotavirus.
17. Rubella.
18. Smallpox.
19. Tetanus.
20. Travellers’ diarrhea.
21. Tuberculosis.
22. Typhoid Fever.
23. Varicella.
24. Yellow Fever.
