COLLEGES OF APPLIED ARTS AND TECHNOLOGY — COLLEGES

Note: This Regulation was revoked on the day that section 8 of the Ontario Colleges of Applied Arts and Technology Act, 2002 comes into force. This day has been named as April 1, 2003. See: O. Reg. 36/03, ss. 1, 2.

The Algonquin College of Applied Arts and Technology

1. The college of applied arts and technology known as “The Algonquin College of Applied Arts and Technology” is continued for the area comprised of all the municipalities, including any cities or separated towns, within the counties of Renfrew, Lanark, Russell and Prescott and The Regional Municipality of Ottawa-Carleton. The board of governors of the college shall be known in English as “The Board of Governors of The Algonquin College of Applied Arts and Technology” and in French as “Conseil d’administration du Collège Algonquin d’arts appliqués et de technologie”. The Cambrian College of Applied Arts and Technology

2. The college of applied arts and technology known as “The Cambrian College of Applied Arts and Technology” is continued for the area comprised of all the municipalities, including any cities or separated towns, within the territorial districts of Manitoulin and Sudbury. The board of governors of the college shall be known in English as “The Board of Governors of The Cambrian College of Applied Arts and Technology” and in French as “Conseil d’administration du Collège Cambrian d’arts appliqués et de technologie”. The Canadore College of Applied Arts and Technology

3. The college of applied arts and technology known as “The Canadore College of Applied Arts and Technology” is continued for the area comprised of the Territorial District of Nipissing. The board of governors of the college shall be known in English as “The Board of Governors of The Canadore College of Applied Arts and Technology” and in French as “Conseil d’administration du Collège Canadore d’arts appliqués et de technologie”. The Centennial College of Applied Arts and Technology

4. The college of applied arts and technology known as “The Centennial College of Applied Arts and Technology” is continued for the area comprised of the City of Scarborough and the Borough of East York in The Municipality of Metropolitan Toronto. The board of governors of the college shall be known as “The Board of Governors of The Centennial College of Applied Arts and Technology”. R.R.O. 1990, Reg. 771, s. 4.

Collège Boréal d’arts appliqués et de technologie

4.0.0.1 (1) The college of applied arts and technology known as “Collège Boréal d’arts appliqués et de technologie” is continued for the areas comprised of,

(a) the territorial districts of Algoma, Cochrane, Kenora, Manitoulin, Nipissing, Parry Sound, Rainy River, Sudbury, Thunder Bay and Timiskaming, including any cities and separated towns within those districts;

(b) the geographic areas of the upper-tier municipalities of Bruce, Dufferin, Durham, Elgin, Essex, Grey, Haliburton, Halton, Hastings, Huron, Lambton, Lennox and Addington, Middlesex, Muskoka, Niagara, Northumberland, Oxford, Peel, Perth, Peterborough, Simcoe, Waterloo, Wellington and York; and

(c) the geographic areas of the local municipalities of Barrie, Belleville, Brantford, Chatham-Kent, County of Brant, County of Prince Edward, Guelph, Haldimand County, Hamilton, Kawartha Lakes, London, Norfolk County, Orillia, Pelee, Peterborough, Quinte West, St. Marys, St. Thomas, Stratford, Toronto and Windsor. Collège d’arts appliqués et de technologie La Cité collégiale

4.1 (1) The college of applied arts and technology known as “Collège d’arts appliqués et de technologie de l’est” is continued as “Collège d’arts appliqués et de technologie La Cité collégiale” for the counties of Renfrew, Lanark, Russell, Prescott, Frontenac, Leeds, Grenville, Dundas, Stormont and Glengarry and The Regional Municipality of Ottawa-Carleton. (2) The board of governors of the college shall be known as “Le Conseil d’administration du Collège d’arts appliqués et de technologie La Cité collégiale”. O. Reg. 207/91, s. 1.

Collège d’arts appliqués et de technologie des Grands Lacs

4.2 (1) The college of applied arts and technology known as “Collège d’arts appliqués et de technologie du Centre/Sud-Ouest” is continued as “Collège d’arts appliqués et de technologie des Grands Lacs” for the counties of Brant, Bruce, Dufferin, Elgin, Essex, Grey, Haliburton, Hastings, Huron, Kent, Lambton, Lennox and Addington, Middlesex, Northumberland, Oxford, Perth, Peterborough, Prince Edward, Simcoe, Victoria and Wellington, including any cities and separated towns within those counties, The District Municipality of Muskoka, The Municipality of Metropolitan Toronto, the regional municipalities of Durham, Haldimand-Norfolk, Halton, Hamilton-Wentworth, Niagara, Peel, Waterloo and York, and the Territorial District of Parry Sound, including any cities and separated towns within the Territorial District of Parry Sound. The Conestoga College Institute of Technology and Advanced Learning

5. The college of applied arts and technology known as “The Conestoga College of Applied Arts and Technology” is continued as “The Conestoga College Institute of Technology and Advanced Learning” for the area comprised of the geographic areas of the upper-tier municipalities of Huron, Perth, Waterloo and Wellington and the geographic areas of the local municipalities of Guelph, St. Marys and Stratford. The Confederation College of Applied Arts and Technology

6. The college of applied arts and technology known as “The Confederation College of Applied Arts and Technology” is continued for the area comprised of all the municipalities, including any cities or separated towns, within the territorial districts of Kenora, Rainy River and Thunder Bay. The board of governors of the college shall be known in English as “The Board of Governors of The Confederation College of Applied Arts and Technology” and in French as “Conseil d’administration du Collège Confederation d’arts appliqués et de technologie”. The Durham College of Applied Arts and Technology

7. The college of applied arts and technology known as “The Durham College of Applied Arts and Technology” is continued for the area comprised of all the municipalities, including any cities or separated towns, within The Regional Municipality of Durham. The Fanshawe College of Applied Arts and Technology

9. The college of applied arts and technology known as “The Fanshawe College of Applied Arts and Technology” is continued for the area comprised of all the municipalities, including any cities or separated towns, within the counties of Middlesex, Elgin and Oxford and that part of The Regional Municipality of Haldimand-Norfolk that was formerly the County of Norfolk. The board of governors of the college shall be known as “The Board of Governors of The Fanshawe College of Applied Arts and Technology”. R.R.O. 1990, Reg. 771, s. 9.

The George Brown College of Applied Arts and Technology

10. The college of applied arts and technology known as “The George Brown College of Applied Arts and Technology” is continued for the area comprised of the City of Toronto. The board of governors of the college shall be known in English as “The Board of Governors of The George Brown College of Applied Arts and Technology” and in French as “Conseil d’administration du Collège George Brown d’arts appliqués et de technologie”. The Georgian College of Applied Arts and Technology

11. The college of applied arts and technology known as “The Georgian College of Applied Arts and Technology” is continued for the area comprised of all the municipalities, including any cities or separated towns, within the counties of Bruce, Grey, Dufferin and Simcoe, The District Municipality of Muskoka and the Territorial District of Parry Sound. The board of governors of the college shall be known as “The Board of Governors of The Georgian College of Applied Arts and Technology”. R.R.O. 1990, Reg. 771, s. 11.

The Humber College Institute of Technology and Advanced Learning

12. The college of applied arts and technology known as “The Humber College of Applied Arts and Technology” is continued as “The Humber College Institute of Technology and Advanced Learning” for the area comprised of the parts of the geographic area of the City of Toronto which, on December 31, 1997, were included in the geographic areas of the former City of Etobicoke and the former City of York. The Lambton College of Applied Arts and Technology

13. The college of applied arts and technology known as “The Lambton College of Applied Arts and Technology” is continued for the area comprised of all the municipalities, including any cities or separated towns, within the County of Lambton. The board of governors of the college shall be known as “The Board of Governors of The Lambton College of Applied Arts and Technology”. R.R.O. 1990, Reg. 771, s. 13.

The Loyalist College of Applied Arts and Technology

14. The college of applied arts and technology known as “The Loyalist College of Applied Arts and Technology” is continued for the area comprised of all the municipalities, including any cities or separated towns, within the counties of Lennox and Addington, Prince Edward, Hastings, and Northumberland except the Town of Cobourg and the townships of Hamilton and South Monaghan. The board of governors of the college shall be known as “The Board of Governors of The Loyalist College of Applied Arts and Technology”. R.R.O. 1990, Reg. 771, s. 14.

The Mohawk College of Applied Arts and Technology

15. The college of applied arts and technology known as “The Mohawk College of Applied Arts and Technology” is continued for the area comprised of all the municipalities, including any cities or separated towns, within the County of Brant, that part of The Regional Municipality of Haldimand-Norfolk that was formerly the townships of North Cayuga, Oneida, Rainham, Seneca and Walpole in the County of Haldimand, that part of The Regional Municipality of Niagara that was formerly the townships of Caistor, North Grimsby and South Grimsby in the County of Lincoln and The Regional Municipality of Hamilton-Wentworth and any urban municipalities within the boundaries of such part. The board of governors of the college shall be known in English as “The Board of Governors of The Mohawk College of Applied Arts and Technology” and in French as “Conseil d’administration du Collège Mohawk d’arts appliqués et de technologie”. The Niagara College of Applied Arts and Technology

16. The college of applied arts and technology known as “The Niagara College of Applied Arts and Technology” is continued for the area comprised of all the municipalities, including any cities or separated towns, within that part of The Regional Municipality of Niagara that was formerly the County of Welland, and that part of the said regional municipality that was formerly the townships of Clinton, Grantham, Gainsborough, Louth and Niagara in the County of Lincoln and any urban municipalities within the boundaries of such part, and that part of The Regional Municipality of Haldimand-Norfolk that was formerly the townships of Moulton, Sherbrooke, Dunn, Canborough and South Cayuga in the County of Haldimand and any urban municipalities within the boundaries of those townships. The board of governors of the college shall be known in English as “The Board of Governors of The Niagara College of Applied Arts and Technology” and in French as “Conseil d’administration du Collège Niagara d’arts appliqués et de technologie”. The Northern College of Applied Arts and Technology

17. The college of applied arts and technology known as “The Northern College of Applied Arts and Technology” is continued for the area comprised of all the municipalities, including any cities or separated towns, within the territorial districts of Cochrane and Timiskaming. The board of governors of the college shall be known in English as “The Board of Governors of The Northern College of Applied Arts and Technology” and in French as “Conseil d’administration du Collège Northern d’arts appliqués et de technologie”. The St. Clair College of Applied Arts and Technology

18. The college of applied arts and technology known as “The St. Clair College of Applied Arts and Technology” is continued for the area comprised of all the municipalities, including any cities or separated towns, within the counties of Essex and Kent. The board of governors of the college shall be known in English as “The Board of Governors of The St. Clair College of Applied Arts and Technology” and in French as “Conseil d’administration du Collège St. Clair d’arts appliqués et de technologie”. The St. Lawrence College of Applied Arts and Technology

19. The college of applied arts and technology known as “The St. Lawrence College of Applied Arts and Technology” is continued for the area comprised of all the municipalities, including any cities or separated towns, within the counties of Frontenac, Leeds, Grenville, Dundas, Stormont and Glengarry. The board of governors of the college shall be known in English as “The Board of Governors of The St. Lawrence College of Applied Arts and Technology” and in French as “Conseil d’administration de Collège Saint-Laurent d’arts appliqués et de technologie”. The Sault College of Applied Arts and Technology

20. The college of applied arts and technology known as “The Sault College of Applied Arts and Technology” is continued for the area comprised of the Territorial District of Algoma. The board of governors of the college shall be known in English as “The Board of Governors of The Sault College of Applied Arts and Technology” and in French as “Conseil d’administration du Collège Sault d’arts appliqués et de technologie”. The Sheridan College Institute of Technology and Advanced Learning

21. The college of applied arts and technology known as “The Sheridan College of Applied Arts and Technology” is continued as “The Sheridan College Institute of Technology and Advanced Learning” for the area comprised of the geographic areas of the upper-tier municipalities of Halton and Peel. The Seneca College of Applied Arts and Technology

22. The college of applied arts and technology known as “The Seneca College of Applied Arts and Technology” is continued for the area comprised of the City of North York and all the municipalities within The Regional Municipality of York. The board of governors of the college shall be known as “The Board of Governors of The Seneca College of Applied Arts and Technology”. R.R.O. 1990, Reg. 771, s. 22.

The Sir Sandford Fleming College of Applied Arts and Technology

23. The college of applied arts and technology known as “The Sir Sandford Fleming College of Applied Arts and Technology” is continued for the area comprised of all the municipalities, including any cities or separated towns, within the counties of Victoria and Peterborough and the Provisional County of Haliburton, and the Town of Cobourg and the township of Hamilton in the County of Northumberland. The board of governors of the college shall be known as “The Board of Governors of The Sir Sandford Fleming College of Applied Arts and Technology”. Conditions Governing Legislative Grants

24. (1) It is a condition of the payment of legislative grants to a French language college that, except for instruction of English as a second language,

(a) all programs and services offered by the college for which Ministry approval is required under Regulation 770 of the Revised Regulations of Ontario, 1990 shall be offered only in French; and

(b) all programs and services delivered by the college on behalf of the provincial government shall be delivered only in French. O. Reg. 207/91, s. 3; O. Reg. 390/95, s. 2 (1).

(2) It is a condition of the payment of legislative grants to an English language college that, except for instruction of French as a second language,

(a) all programs and services offered by the college for which Ministry approval is required under Regulation 770 of the Revised Regulations of Ontario, 1990 shall be offered only in English; and

(b) all programs and services delivered by the college on behalf of the provincial government shall be delivered only in English. O. Reg. 207/91, s. 3; O. Reg. 390/95, s. 2 (2).

(3) Despite subsections (1) and (2), if the area for which an English language college is named in this Regulation is wholly or partly the same as the area for which a French language college is named in this Regulation, the board of governors of the English language college and the board of governors of the French language college may enter into an agreement that the programs and services referred to in subsections (1) and (2) may, in whole or in part, be offered or delivered in either English or French or in both English and French. (4) In this section,

“English language college” means any college named in this Regulation other than a French language college;

“French language college” means the college known as Collège d’arts appliqués et de technologie La Cité collégiale, the college known as Collège des Grands Lacs d’arts appliqués et de technologie or the college known as Collège Boréal d’arts appliqués et de technologie. O. Reg. 390/95, s. 2 (3).
