Amending Reg. 628 of R.R.O. 1990
(Vehicle Permits)
1. Section 1 of Regulation 628 of the Revised Regulations of Ontario, 1990 is amended by adding the following definition:
“hybrid vehicle” means a motor vehicle that is equipped by its manufacturer with an internal combustion engine as a source of power and an electric motor as an auxiliary source of power;
2. (1) Subsection 2 (4) of the Regulation is amended by striking out “or” at the end of clause (e), by adding “or” at the end of clause (f) and by adding the following clause:
(g) a hybrid vehicle.
(2) Subsection 2 (5.1) of the Regulation is amended by striking out “or” at the end of clause (a) and by adding the following clause:
(a.1) a hybrid vehicle; or
3. Subsection 8.1 (2) of the Regulation is amended by adding the following clause:
(a.1) a hybrid vehicle;
4. Section 8.2 of the Regulation is amended by adding the following subsection:
(1.1) This section does not apply in respect of a hybrid vehicle.
5. This Regulation comes into force on the later of the day it is filed and May 1, 2005.
