Amending O. Reg. 424/97

(COMMERCIAL MOTOR VEHICLE OPERATORS’ INFORMATION)

1. The definitions of “commercial motor vehicle”, “CVOR certificate” and “operator” in subsection 1 (1) Ontario Regulation 424/97 are revoked and the following substituted:

“commercial motor vehicle” has the same meaning as in section 3 of Ontario Regulation 419/15 (Definitions of Commercial Motor Vehicle and Tow Truck) made under the Act;

“operator” has the same meaning as in subsection 16 (1) of the Act.

2. Section 1.0.1 of the Regulation is revoked and the following substituted:

1.0.1 A commercial motor vehicle is exempt from the requirements of section 16 of the Act if it is operated under and in accordance with,

(a) a special permit issued under Regulation 628 of the Revised Regulations of Ontario, 1990 (Vehicle Permits) made under the Act;

(b) a permit for which temporary validation has been issued under Regulation 628 of the Revised Regulations of Ontario, 1990 (Vehicle Permits) made under the Act; or

(c) a Manufacturer permit and number plate issued under Regulation 628 of the Revised Regulations of Ontario, 1990 (Vehicle Permits) made under the Act.

Commencement

3. This Regulation comes into force on later of the day subsection 1 (3) of Schedule 2 to the Fighting Fraud and Reducing Automobile Insurance Rates Act, 2014 comes into force and the day this Regulation is filed.
