Amending Reg. 965 of R.R.O. 1990

(HOSPITAL MANAGEMENT)

1. The French version of the definition of “personnel obstétrical” in subsection 1 (1) of Regulation 965 of the Revised Regulations of Ontario, 1990 is revoked and the following substituted:

«personnel maïeutique» Ensemble des sages-femmes auxquelles le conseil a accordé le droit de procéder à des évaluations, d’exercer une surveillance, de prescrire des ordonnances ou de traiter des malades à l’hôpital. («midwifery staff»)

2. The French version of the Regulation is amended by striking out “personnel obstétrical” wherever it appears in the following provisions and substituting in each case “personnel maïeutique”:

1. The definition of “sage-femme traitante” in subsection 1 (1).

2. Paragraph 1 of subsection 2 (2).

3. Clause 4 (1) (c).

4. Subclauses 7 (2) (a) (i), (ii), (iii), (iv), (v), and (vii).

5. Clauses 11 (1) (c) and (3) (a).

6. Paragraph 2 of subsection 16 (1).

7. Subsections 18 (1) and (3).

8. Clauses 19 (5) (c) and (h).

9. Clause 22 (6) (a).

10. Clause 25 (1) (b).

3. Subclause 4 (1) (a) (vii) of the Regulation is amended by striking out “Public Accountancy Act” at the end and substituting “Public Accounting Act, 2004”.

4. Subsection 17 (2) of the Regulation is revoked and the following substituted:

(2) Where the Vital Statistics Act requires a coroner to complete the medical certificate of death and the coroner does not provide the attending physician or registered nurse in the extended class with a copy of the medical certificate of death, the attending physician or registered nurse in the extended class shall,

(a) complete a report in the form entitled “Certificate of Death – Form 1”, dated April 2017 and available on the website of the Government of Ontario Central Forms Repository under the listing for the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care; and

(b) cause a copy of the report to be filed in the medical record pertaining to the patient.

5. Form 1 of the Regulation is revoked.

Commencement

6. This Regulation comes into force on the day it is filed.
