Amending Reg. 552 of R.R.O. 1990

(GENERAL)

1. (1) Subsection 9 (2) of Regulation 552 of the Revised Regulations of Ontario, 1990 is revoked and the following substituted:

(2) Subject to section 10 and subsection 11 (1), an insured person is entitled to receive, in a hospital listed in Schedule 1, without paying any charge to the hospital,

(a) such in-patient and out-patient services as are available in the hospital; and

(b) in conjunction with insured in-patient services, accommodation and meals at the standard or public ward level.

(2) Section 9 of the Regulation is amended by adding the following subsection:

(3.1) Subject to section 10, where an insured person is receiving in-patient services in a hospital listed in Schedule 1 and standard ward accommodation in the hospital is not available for any reason, the person shall be provided by the hospital with private or semi-private accommodation without paying any charge to the hospital for such services.

2. Schedule 1 to the Regulation is revoked and the following substituted:
