Amending O. Reg. 255/17

(U.S. STEEL CANADA INC. PENSION PLANS)

1. (1) Subsection 8 (1) of Ontario Regulation 255/17 is revoked and the following substituted:

(1) Subsection 55 (1) and section 55.1 of the Act do not apply to the main pension plans.

(2) Subsection 8 (3) of the Regulation is amended by striking out “5 and 7” and substituting “5, 7, 7.0.1, 7.0.2, 7.0.3 and 8 and subsections 40 (3), 40.1 (4) and 40.2 (4)”.

2. Paragraphs 1 and 2 of section 35 of the Regulation are revoked and the following substituted:

1. Sections 55.1 and 55.2 of the Act do not apply to the employer in respect of the new pension plan.

2. Sections 4, 5, 7, 7.0.1, 7.0.2, 7.0.3 and 8 and subsections 40 (3), 40.1 (4) and 40.2 (4) of the General Regulation do not apply to the employer in respect of the new pension plan.

Commencement

3. This Regulation comes into force on the later of the day subsection 1 (4) of Schedule 33 to the Stronger, Fairer Ontario Act (Budget Measures), 2017 comes into force and the day it is filed.
