Health Sector Entities
Health sector entities
1. (1) The following persons or entities are prescribed for the purpose of clause (a) of the definition of “health sector entity” in section 2 of the Act, if they receive funding from a government entity to provide or support the provision of health services:
1. A person or entity that operates a hospital within the meaning of the Public Hospitals Act or a private hospital within the meaning of the Private Hospitals Act.
2. The University of Ottawa Heart Institute/Institut de cardiologie de l’Université d’Ottawa.
(2) The following corporations are prescribed for the purpose of clause (b) of the definition of “health sector entity” in section 2 of the Act, if they are controlled by one or more persons or entities mentioned in subsection (1) and exist solely or primarily for the purpose of purchasing goods or services for those persons or entities:
1. Every corporation controlled by one or more persons or entities described in paragraph 1 or 2 of subsection (1).
2. Paragraph 1 of subsection 1 (1) is amended by striking out “a private hospital within the meaning of the Private Hospitals Act” and substituting “a community health facility within the meaning of the Oversight of Health Facilities and Devices Act, 2017 that was formerly licensed under the Private Hospitals Act”.
Commencement
3. (1) Subject to subsection (2), this Regulation comes into force on the later of the day section 2 of Schedule 37 to the Plan to Build Ontario Together Act, 2019 comes into force and the day this Regulation is filed.
(2) Section 2 comes into force on the latest of,
(a) the day subsection 49 (1) of Schedule 1 to the The People’s Health Care Act, 2019 comes into force;
(b) the day section 2 of Schedule 37 to the Plan to Build Ontario Together Act, 2019 comes into force; and
(c) the day this Regulation is filed.
