Amending O. Reg. 347/02

(ACCREDITATION OF TEACHER EDUCATION PROGRAMS)

1. The French version of clause 1 (3) (b) of Ontario Regulation 347/02 is amended by striking out “sourds ou malentendants” and substituting “ayant une surdité ou une surdité partielle”.

2. Section 24.1 of the Regulation is revoked and the following substituted:

Teaching Students Who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing Program

24.1 A program leading to an additional qualification for Teaching Students Who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing Program may be granted accreditation under this Regulation if the following requirements are satisfied, in addition to the requirements set out in section 24:

1. The program is two academic semesters in duration.

2. The program has course content in aural and oral communication with students who are deaf or hard of hearing and in,

i. communication in American Sign Language, or

ii. communication in Langue des signes québécoise.

3. The program includes a practicum acceptable to the College in teaching students who are deaf or hard of hearing.

Commencement

3. This Regulation comes into force on the day it is filed.
