Amending O. Reg. 137/15
(GENERAL)
1. Subsection 6.0.1 (1) of Ontario Regulation 137/15 is amended by adding the following paragraph:
8. Section 50 (safe arrival and dismissal policy).
2. Subsection 13.1 (4) of the Regulation is amended by striking out “subsection 77.1 (4)” at the end and substituting “subsection 77.3 (2)”.
3. The French version of paragraphs 1 and 2 of subsection 42 (2) of the Regulation are each amended by adding “sauf” after “fournisseur”.
4. Subsection 45 (1) of the Regulation is amended by adding the following clause:
(c.1) a copy of the safe arrival and dismissal policy described in section 50;
5. The Regulation is amended by adding the following section:
Safe arrival and dismissal policy
50. Every licensee shall ensure that each child care centre it operates and each premises where it oversees the provision of home child care has a policy respecting the safe arrival and dismissal of children that,
(a) provides that a child may only be released from the child care centre or home child care premises,
(i) to individuals specified by a child’s parent, or
(ii) in accordance with written permission from a child’s parent to release the child from the program at a specified time without supervision; and
(b) sets out the steps that must be taken if,
(i) a child does not arrive as expected at the child care centre or home child care premises, or
(ii) a child is not picked up as expected from the child care centre or home child care premises.
6. Paragraph 5 of subsection 72 (1) of the Regulation is revoked and the following substituted:
5. The names of persons to whom the child may be released and, if applicable, a copy of any written permission signed by a parent of the child permitting the child to be released from the program at a specified time on their own, without supervision.
Commencement
7. (1) Except as otherwise provided in this section, this Regulation comes into force on the day it is filed.
(2) Sections 1, 4, 5 and 6 come into force on the later of January 1, 2024 and the day this Regulation is filed.
