Amending O. Reg. 50/24

(PART II.3 PROJECTS - DESIGNATIONS AND EXEMPTIONS)

1. Paragraphs 5 and 9 of section 23 of Ontario Regulation 50/24 are revoked.

2. Clause 24 (1) (k) of the Regulation is revoked.

3. Section 25 of the Regulation is amended by adding the following subsections:

(3) Subsection (1) applies even if the project is carried out in a manner that exceeds any service area limit or fill rate limit established under the Environmental Screening Process for Waste Management Projects.

(4) In this section,

“fill rate” means the rate at which a landfilling site or dump is filled.

4. (1) Subparagraph 1 iii of subsection 34 (1) of the Regulation is amended by striking out “has a rated capacity of greater than 100,000 litres per day and is not located at a sewage treatment plant or sewage lagoon facility” at the end and substituting “and has a rated capacity of greater than 100,000 litres per day”.

(2) Subsection 34 (2) of the Regulation is amended by striking out “or 2”.

5. This Regulation comes into force on the day it is filed.
