SPECIAL PAYMENTS FOR PHYSICIAN SERVICES

Definition

1. In this Regulation,

“physician schedule of benefits” means the schedule of benefits as defined in subsection 1 (1) of Regulation 552 of the Revised Regulations of Ontario, 1990 (General) made under the Act, but also includes Appendix F of the document referred to in that definition.

Special payment

2. (1) A special payment is payable by the Plan to every physician who renders services in Ontario on and after October 1, 2008 but before October 1, 2009.

(2) The amount of the special payment is three per cent of the amount calculated by adding the following:

1. The total amount payable to the physician by the Plan for the period mentioned in subsection (1) with respect to insured services rendered in Ontario that are listed in the physician schedule of benefits, other than the services listed in the physician schedule of benefits that are headed by a column listed “H” or “T” or with the phrase “technical component” listed opposite the service.

2. The total amount of any premiums listed in the physician schedule of benefits payable to the physician by the Plan for the period mentioned in subsection (1) with respect to the insured services provided for in paragraph 1.

3. The total amount payable to the physician for the period mentioned in subsection (1) with respect to services rendered in Ontario that are described in Appendix F of the physician schedule of benefits.

Commencement

3. This Regulation comes into force on the day it is filed.
