Amending Reg. 57 of R.R.O. 1990

(General)

1. (1) The French version of paragraph 1 of section 2 of Regulation 57 of the Revised Regulations of Ontario, 1990 is amended by striking out “un acarien trachéal” and substituting “l’acarien trachéal”.

(2) Paragraph 2 of section 2 of the Regulation is revoked and the following substituted:

2. Varroatosis, being the disease of bees caused by the mite Varroa sp.

(3) Section 2 of the Regulation is amended by adding the following paragraphs: 

3. Resistant Varroatosis, being the disease of bees caused by the mite Varroa sp. resistant to miticides.

4. Nosemosis, being the disease of bees caused by the fungus Nosema sp.

5. Resistant Nosemosis, being the disease of bees caused by the fungus Nosema sp. resistant to antibiotics.  

6. Resistant American foulbrood, being the disease of bees caused by the bacteria Paenibacillus larvae resistant to antibiotics.

7. Resistant European foulbrood, being the disease of bees caused by the bacteria Melissococcus pluton resistant to antibiotics.

8. Tropilaelapsosis, being the disease of bees caused by the mite Tropilaelaps sp.

9. Resistant Tropilaelapsosis, being the disease of bees caused by the mite Tropilaelaps sp. resistant to miticides.

10. Euvarroatosis, being the disease of bees caused by the mite Euvarroa sp.

11. Resistant Euvarroatosis, being the disease of bees caused by the mite Euvarroa sp. resistant to miticides.

2. Section 2.1 of the Regulation is revoked and the following substituted:

Pests

2.1 The following are designated as pests for the purposes of the Act:

1. Aethina tumida (Small hive beetle).

2. Apis mellifera capensis (Cape honey bee).

3. Apis mellifera scutellata species hybrid (African honey bee hybrid).

4. Apis cerana species complex (Asian honey bee).

5. Apis florea species complex (Dwarf honey bee).

6. Apis dorsata species complex (Giant honey bee).

7. Vespa mandarinia, Vespa vellutina (Giant Asian hornet).

8. Oplostomus haroldi, Oplostomus fuligineus (Large hive beetle).

3. The English version of subsection 5 (2) of the Regulation is amended by striking out “foul brood” and substituting “foulbrood”.

Commencement

4. This Regulation comes into force on the later of July 1, 2013 and the day it is filed.
