Amending O. Reg. 664/98

(fish licensing)

1. (1) Paragraph 4 of subsection 34 (2) of Ontario Regulation 664/98 is amended by striking out “caught” and substituting “harvested”.

(2) Paragraphs 2 and 3 of subsection 34 (3) of the Regulation are revoked and the following substituted:

2. Multiply that amount by the average price per pound for that species paid in the calendar year preceding the year of harvest in the economic zone in which the fish were harvested.

3. Multiply the result of the calculations made under paragraph 2 by,

i. in the case of fish harvested before January 1, 2016, 0.033,

ii. in the case of fish harvested on or after January 1, 2016, 0.04.

(3) Paragraph 3 of subsection 34 (3) of the Regulation, as remade by subsection (2), is revoked and the following substituted:

3. Multiply the result of the calculations made under paragraph 2 by,  

i. in the case of fish harvested before January 1, 2018, 0.04,

ii. in the case of fish harvested on or after January 1, 2018, 0.05.

(4) Paragraphs 2 and 3 of subsection 34 (4) of the Regulation are revoked and the following substituted:

2. Multiply that amount by the average price per pound for that species paid in the month of harvest in the economic zone in which the fish were harvested.

3. Multiply the result of the calculations made under paragraph 2 by,

i. in the case of fish harvested before January 1, 2016, 0.033,

ii. in the case of fish harvested on or after January 1, 2016, 0.04.

(5) Paragraph 3 of subsection 34 (4) of the Regulation, as remade by subsection (4), is revoked and the following substituted:

3. Multiply the result of the calculations made under paragraph 2 by,

i. in the case of fish harvested before January 1, 2018, 0.04,

ii. in the case of fish harvested on or after January 1, 2018, 0.05.

Commencement

2. (1) Subject to subsection (2), this Regulation comes into force on January 1, 2016.

(2) Subsections 1 (3) and (5) come into force on January 1, 2018.
