Amending Reg. 611 of R.R.O. 1990

(SAFETY INSPECTIONS)

1. (1) Regulation 611 of the Revised Regulations of Ontario, 1990 is amended by adding the following section:

4.0.1 If a commercial motor vehicle is a mobile equipment vehicle that, but for subsection 8 (10), would be required to display an annual inspection sticker under section 8, a safety standards certificate shall not be issued in respect of the vehicle unless it has been inspected in accordance with the inspection requirements and complies with the performance standards set out in NSC Standard 11B as modified by sections 1 and 4 of Schedule 3.

(2) Section 4.0.1 of the Regulation, as made by subsection (1), is amended by striking out “but for subsection 8 (10), would be required” and substituting “is required”.

2. (1) Section 8 of the Regulation is amended by adding the following subsection:

(10) Subsections (1) and (2) do not apply to a self-propelled concrete pump or a mobile crane.

(2) Subsection 8 (10) of the Regulation, as made by subsection (1), is revoked.

Commencement

3. (1) Subject to subsection (2), this Regulation comes into force on the later of July 1, 2017 and the day this Regulation is filed.

(2) Subsections 1 (2) and 2 (2) come into force on July 1, 2018.
