Transition - establishment of Mining and Lands Tribunal

First members of Tribunal

1. (1) For the purposes of constituting the Mining and Lands Tribunal under section 6 of the Act, the Lieutenant Governor in Council shall appoint each deputy mining and lands commissioner who remains in office on March 31, 2018 as a first member of the Tribunal as of April 1, 2018.

(2) The appointment of a deputy mining and lands commissioner to the Mining and Lands Tribunal shall specify that his or her term of office terminates on either of the following dates:

1. The day his or her term of office as deputy mining and lands commissioner would have expired.

2. July 17, 2019.

Commencement

2. This Regulation comes into force on the later of April 1, 2018 and the day it is filed.
