Amending O. Reg. 407/18

(2018 AND 2022 REGULAR ELECTIONS - SPECIAL RULES)

1. Ontario Regulation 407/18 is amended by adding the following section immediately after the heading “Part III Regional Municipalities — 2018 Regular Election”:

Election campaign period

13.1 With respect to a person who was a candidate for the office of head of council of a municipality referred to in subsection 218.1 (1) of the Municipal Act, 2001 on July 27, 2018 and who is deemed to have withdrawn his or her nomination under subsection 10.2 (1) of the Municipal Elections Act, 1996, paragraphs 2 and 3 of subsection 88.24 (1) of the Municipal Elections Act, 1996 do not apply and instead the election campaign period ended on August 14, 2018.

Commencement

2. This Regulation comes into force on the day it is filed.
