Amending Reg. 855 of R.R.O. 1990

(OIL AND GAS - OFFSHORE)

1. Section 28 of Regulation 855 of the Revised Regulations of Ontario, 1990 is revoked and the following substituted:

28. Every worker who is exposed to the hazard of falling into water shall wear a life jacket or other personal flotation device that is appropriate in the circumstances to protect the worker from drowning.

2. Clause 65 (f) of the Regulation is amended by striking out “floatation” and substituting “flotation”.

3. Clause 97 (a) of the Regulation is revoked and the following substituted:

(a) comply with,

(i) the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Recommended Practice for Electrical Installations on Shipboard Standard 45-1983, if the equipment was installed before July 1, 2019, or

(ii) the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Recommended Practice for Electrical Installations on Shipboard Standard 45-2002, if the equipment was installed on or after July 1, 2019;

Commencement

4. (1) Subject to subsection (2), this Regulation comes into force on the day it is filed.

(2) Sections 1 and 3 come into force on the later of July 1, 2019 and the day this Regulation is filed.
