Amending O. Reg. 18/99

(DOCUMENTS - GENERAL)

1. Ontario Regulation 18/99 is amended by adding the following section:

1.1 (1) If a document must be registered in written form alone, the Director may specify the manner in which the document may be delivered for registration under the Land Titles Act or the Registry Act or for deposit under Part II of the Registry Act.

(2) Despite the Land Titles Act or the Registry Act, if the Director specifies that a document executed in written form may be delivered for registration under the Land Titles Act or the Registry Act or for deposit under Part II of the Registry Act by electronic means, it is deemed to have the same effect for all purposes as the original document.

2. Section 2 of the Regulation is revoked.

Commencement

3. This Regulation comes into force on the later of the day subsection 11 (1) of Schedule 28 to the Strong Action for Ontario Act (Budget Measures), 2012 comes into force and the day this Regulation is filed.
