Amending Reg. 854 of R.R.O. 1990
(MINES AND MINING PLANTS)
1. The definition of “professional engineer” in section 1 of Regulation 854 of the Revised Regulations of Ontario, 1990 is revoked.
2. The English version of subsection 5 (1) of the Regulation is amended by striking out “by a professional engineer under his or her seal and signature” in the portion after clause (i) and substituting “by an engineer under the engineer’s seal and signature”.
3. (1) The English version of clause 6.1 (1) (a) of the Regulation is amended by striking out “a professional engineer” and substituting “an engineer”.
(2) The English version of clause 6.1 (2) (a) of the Regulation is amended by striking out “a professional engineer” and substituting “an engineer”.
4. The English version of clause 7 (a) of the Regulation is amended by striking out “a professional engineer” at the end and substituting “an engineer”.
5. The English version of subsection 19 (2) of the Regulation is amended by striking out “a professional engineer” and substituting “an engineer”.
6. The English version of subsection 89 (2) of the Regulation is amended by striking out “a professional engineer” and substituting “an engineer”.
7. The English version of subsection 186 (1) of the Regulation is amended by striking out “a professional engineer” in the portion before clause (a) and substituting “an engineer”.
8. The English version of clause 195 (8) (b) of the Regulation is amended by striking out “a professional engineer” at the end and substituting “an engineer”.
9. The English version of subsection 203 (1) of the Regulation is amended by striking out “a professional engineer” in the portion before clause (a) and substituting “an engineer”.
10. The English version of subsection 204 (1) of the Regulation is amended by striking out “a professional engineer” in the portion before clause (a) and substituting “an engineer”.

20. The English version of subsection 248 (7) of the Regulation is amended by striking out “a professional engineer” in the portion before paragraph 1 and substituting “an engineer”.
Commencement
21. This Regulation comes into force on the later of the day subsection 1 (1) of Schedule 15 to the Supporting People and Businesses Act, 2021 comes into force and the day this Regulation is filed.
