Amending O. Reg. 246/22

(GENERAL)

1. (1) Subsection 102 (5) of Ontario Regulation 246/22 is amended by adding “and” at the end of clause (i), by striking out “and” at the end of clause (j) and by revoking clause (k).

(2) Subsection 102 (6) of the Regulation is revoked and the following substituted:

(6) The licensee shall ensure that the staff member designated as the infection prevention and control lead has, at the time of the designation, a current certification in infection control from the Certification Board of Infection Control and Epidemiology or obtains the certification within three years after the day the staff member is designated.

(6.1) The three-year period referred to in subsection (6) shall be calculated without including any period during which the staff member is on a leave of absence under Part XIV of the Employment Standards Act, 2000.

(6.2) For the purposes of subsection (6), a staff member who was designated before the day 62/25 came into force is deemed to have been designated on April 11, 2025.

Commencement

2. This Regulation is deemed to have come into force on April 11, 2025.
