Amending O. Reg. 155/18

(GENERAL MATTERS UNDER THE AUTHORITY OF THE LIEUTENANT GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL)

1. Ontario Regulation 155/18 is amended by adding the following section:

Societies and licensees to display information

5.1 (1) Every society shall prominently display the information set out in subsection (3) at each of their premises, in a location that is accessible to children and young persons for whom it provides services, and in plain, easy-to-understand language.

(2) Every licensee whose license is issued under Part IX of the Act shall prominently display the information set out in subsection (3) at each of their premises in which residential care is provided under the authority of the license, in a location that is accessible to children and young persons for whom it provides services, and in plain, easy-to-understand language.

(3) The information to be prominently displayed under subsections (1) and (2) is as follows:

1. A description of the rights of children and young persons under Part II of the Act.

2. A description of the society or licensee’s written complaint procedure established in accordance with the requirements of section 22.

3. A statement advising that a child or young person has the right to make a complaint to a society under section 119 of the Act using the form referred to in section 56 of Ontario Regulation 156/18 (General Matters under the Authority of the Minister) made under the Act.

4. A description of how a child or young person’s personal information may be collected, used and disclosed under Part X of the Act, including a child or young person’s rights under that Part.

5. A statement advising of the existence and contact information of the Information and Privacy Commissioner, as well as its role with respect to the Act.

6. A statement advising of the existence, contact information, and role of the Child and Family Services Review Board, if the services provided by the society or licensee at the premises are relevant to the jurisdiction of the Board.

7. A statement advising of the existence, contact information, and role of the Custody Review Board, if the services provided by the society or licensee at the premises are relevant to the jurisdiction of the Board.

8. A statement advising of the existence, contact information and role of any residential placement advisory committee established under subsection 63 (1) of the Act that has jurisdiction within,

i. in the case of a society, the territorial jurisdiction for which the society is designated under subsection 34 (1) of the Act, or

ii. in the case of a licensee, the region designated under subsection 114 (1) of this Regulation within which the relevant premises is located.

Commencement

2. This Regulation comes into force on July 1, 2026.
