Amending O. Reg. 87/24

(TRAINING)

1. (1) Subsection 15 (1) of Ontario Regulation 87/24 is revoked and the following substituted:

Ontario Regulation 391/23, s. 11

(1) The training requirements mentioned in sections 5 and 11 are prescribed in respect of a police officer for the purposes of the following subsections of Ontario Regulation 391/23 (Use of Force and Weapons) made under the Act:

1. Subsection 11 (2), with respect to the use of force on another person by the officer.

2. Subsection 11 (3), with respect to the use of firearms by the officer.

3. Subsection 11 (4), with respect to the use of weapons that are not firearms, other than conducted energy weapons, by the officer.

(1.1) The training requirements mentioned in sections 10 and 11 are prescribed in respect of a Niagara Parks constable for the purposes of the following subsections of Ontario Regulation 391/23 (Use of Force and Weapons) made under the Act:

1. Subsection 11 (2), with respect to the use of force on another person by the special constable.

2. Subsection 11 (3), with respect to the use of firearms by the special constable.

3. Subsection 11 (4), with respect to the use of weapons that are not firearms, other than conducted energy weapons or PAVA projectile launchers, by the special constable.

(2) Paragraph 2 of subsection 15 (3) of the Regulation is amended by striking out “PepperBalls” and substituting “PAVA projectile launchers”.

2. Section 44 of the Regulation is amended by striking out “the day of their appointment” at the end and substituting “the day the person became a member of the board or committee”.

3. This Regulation comes into force on the day it is filed.
