Amending O. Reg. 340/94

(DRIVERS’ LICENCES)

1. Section 12.1 of Ontario Regulation 340/94 is amended by adding the following subsection:

(3.1) An applicant for a Class A driver’s licence may not take the road test for a Class A driver’s licence unless,

(a) for at least six of the immediately preceding 12 months, the driver was a fully licensed driver in Class G or in a class of driver’s licence issued under the Act that allows the operation of Class G motor vehicles; or

(b) for at least 24 of the immediately preceding 36 months, the driver held,

(i) a class of licence equivalent to a class described in clause (a) that is issued by a province or territory of Canada, or

(ii) a DND 404 permit of an equivalent class.

Commencement

2. This Regulation comes into force on the later of January 1, 2027 and the day this Regulation is filed.
