Amending O. Reg. 193/10

(RESTRICTED PURPOSE REVENUES)

1. (1) Subsection 5.5 (1) of Ontario Regulation 193/10 is amended by striking out “allocation” and substituting “component”.

(2) Subsection 5.5 (2) of the Regulation is amended by striking out “provincial and demonstration schools allocation” and substituting “provincial or demonstration schools component”.

2. Subsection 5.7 (1) of the Regulation is amended by striking out “revised July 2025” and substituting “revised July 2026”.

3. Subsection 5.9 (1) of the Regulation is revoked and the following substituted:

Mental health

(1) A district school board shall use the amount determined for the mental health allocation under the legislative grant regulation for the fiscal year only for the purpose of school-based or board-based mental health staffing, programs or initiatives.

4. (1) The Regulation is amended by adding the following section:

Targeted learning

5.11 A district school board shall use the amount determined for the targeted learning allocation under the legislative grant regulation for the fiscal year only for the purpose of implementing the initiatives in respect of which funding is calculated under that allocation for the fiscal year.

(2) Section 5.11 of the Regulation is amended by adding the following subsection:

(2) Any unspent amount determined for a district school board under a legislative grant regulation for a previous fiscal year that was restricted under subsection (1) may only be used in the current or subsequent fiscal years for the purpose of implementing the initiatives in respect of which funding is calculated under the targeted learning allocation for the most recent fiscal year.

5. Clauses 6 (2) (a) and (b) of the Regulation are revoked and the following substituted:

(a)  for the 2025-2026 fiscal year, the document is entitled “Eligible Activities/Expenses 2025-26 – Learning Resources Fund – French as a Second Language Component: Areas of Intervention”, dated July 10, 2025, which is available on a website of the Government of Ontario; and

(b)  for the 2026-2027 fiscal year and subsequent fiscal years, the document is entitled “Eligible Activities/Expenses 2026-27 – French as a Second Language Component: Areas of Intervention”, dated June 2026, which is available on a website of the Government of Ontario.

6. Subparagraph 1 iii of subsection 6.2 (1) of the Regulation is amended by adding “purchasing” before “retrofitting”.

Commencement

7. (1) Except as otherwise provided in this section, this Regulation comes into force on the day it is filed.

(2) Subsection 4 (2) comes into force on September 1, 2027.
