EXPLANATORY NOTE

This Explanatory Note was written as a reader’s aid to Bill 231 and does not form part of the law.  Bill 231 has been enacted as Chapter 35 of the Statutes of Ontario, 2002.

The Bill postpones the repeal date of the Edible Oil Products Act from June 1, 2003 to June 1, 2004.

An Act to amend the
repeal date of the
Edible Oil Products Act

Assented to December 13, 2002

Her Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of the Province of Ontario, enacts as follows:

Repeal date of Edible Oil Products Act

1. Subsection 61 (2) of the Food Safety and Quality Act, 2001 is amended by striking out “2003” and substituting “2004”.

Commencement

2. This Act comes into force on the day it receives Royal Assent.

Short title

3. The short title of this Act is the Edible Oil Products Repeal Date Amendment Act, 2002.
