Marriage - Religious Officials Authorized to Solemnize Marriage

This is a listing of the religious officials authorized to solemnize marriage in Ontario under the Marriage Act.  The list includes the name and city when the official was originally registered.

The Government of Ontario makes best efforts to ensure this information is kept accurate. However, the information is updated on a weekly basis and errors in this information can occur. Individuals intending to be married by a religious official should ask the Official if he or she is registered with Ontario as a person authorized to solemnize marriages.

Registration under Ontario's Marriage Act authorizes a person to solemnize marriages in Ontario. However, it is the responsibility of the individual religious official to ensure he or she is complying with the requirements of Marriage Act. The Government of Ontario does not guarantee that an individual registered to solemnize marriages under the Marriage Act will comply with the requirements of the Marriage Act.
