I am a Birth Parent (My Child was Adopted) - Adoption Disclosure Register

If you are a birth parent and you want to exchange contact information with an adopted adult, you can apply to add your name to the Adoption Disclosure Register. This could help you get in touch with him or her.

How long does this take?

  • Since a match can only be made if the adopted person also applies, a match may take months or even years
  • It is possible that the adopted adult may not apply

Important Information

  • In voluntarily applying to the Adoption Disclosure Register, you have agreed to the release of your identifying information (like your name and contact information).  You will not be contacted to make sure that you are comfortable with this information being released before it is exchanged
  • If you change your mind at any time — or if your contact information changes — you must complete the application to update information or remove name from the Adoption Disclosure Register
