Where can I find more information about the Personal Property Security Registration System (PPSR)?

How can a registration be removed from the PPSR system?

By registering a financing change statement designated as a discharge, or through a Court Order directing the Registrar to remove the registration from the PPSR system.

The original Court Order, or a certified copy, must be provided to the Registrar of Personal Property Security.  The order must be specific enough that it clearly instructs the Registrar as to how the registration system is to be amended. Ideally, a Court Order should reference the file number and/or registration number of the file to be discharged or otherwise amended.

I paid off my loan but the PPSA registration is still showing in the system.  What can I do?

A registration that is discharged will still show up in the PPSR system up to sixty days after the discharge is filed, however the status should appear as “Discharged”. After 60 days, the file is removed from the PPSR system. If the debt is paid off but no discharge has been registered in the PPSR system, please contact the Secured Party listed in the financing statement.

This is a Trust Account in the Consolidated Revenue Fund. A portion of the fees received under the Personal Property Security Act is paid into this fund.
